SEO stands for Search Engine optimization, which is the science that tries to understand how search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing…) work in order to rank the better on them. To rank high in the Search Engines we Optimize the websites. I am not going to enter in details now because there are much better SEO blogs than this one to get a perfect information regarding this interesting topic.

Brand’s Benefits in using SEO

As we know, Search Engines work with words. The html code contains a huge amount of content written in words. Given this, Brands should understand that the content they use in the website is the content they are offering to SEs in order to be found on them. The most accurate to the topic that your potential customers look for in SEs, the most positive impact you will have in terms of visibility. SEO is definitely an important part in Branding 2.0. It requires a deep dive into the source code of the page and a constant effort from the Brands to make it interesting.

SEs work with a big principal: the Common Sense. Google, for instance, believes that the best websites (1st in rankings) are those which offer the highest quality content, the freshest content and the most regularly updated one. We don’t know the algorithm used by Google to rank first, but we do know that applying these 3 principals to the understanding and management of our corporative website, we will have success in the SEs.

Branding is highly linked to this science because the way you are found by the big audience is the first step to have visibility in the market. If you can control this bit of your branding strategy you are already achieving much.
